Factory Manager

Westwind Energy is a social enterprise based in Sierra Leone. We have been manufacturing and distributing improved energy efficient cookstoves under the Wonder Stoves brand name since 1990.

We are looking to hire a Production/Factory Manager to join our existing team, to run and oversee our production facility. You will have previous experience of manufacturing, possess proficient manufacturing techniques, ability and experience to upscale existing production with strong communication skills, leadership and experience of setting high standards.

Responsibilities will include, but not be restricted to, manufacturing, administration, IT systems, HR, order processing, purchasing, stock control, production, quality control and health and safety. Knowledge of factory planning, and fabrication expansion will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing innovative strategies to streamline factory operations.
  • Screening, recruiting, and training factory workers.
  • Establish and execute quality control processes.
  • Ensuring that factory machinery is in good working order.
  • Analysing production data to identify and resolve any production issues.
  • Preparing production reports and submitting them to key decision-makers.
  • Regularly inspecting finished products to determine whether they meet established quality standards.
  • Motivating factory workers to continually achieve factory targets.

The candidate

  • To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate a solid and broad understanding of end-to-end manufacturing processes.
  • You will have a proven track record of operating at a senior operational level managing batch manufacturing processes across a large and varied product range.
  • You will enjoy the operational aspects of managing production as well as the more strategic elements of the role.

Factory Manager Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration/Management or related field.
  • Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a factory.
  • Experience in Production, Inventory Management as well as Quality Control.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Sales Manager

Westwind Energy is a social enterprise based in Sierra Leone. We have been manufacturing and distributing improved energy efficient cookstoves under the Wonder Stoves brand name since 1990.

This position is responsible for researching and developing marketing opportunities, planning and implementing new sales plans. The Sales and Marketing Manager will also manage both the marketing and the sales staff and will perform managerial duties to meet the company’s operations goals.  This position will also provide leadership expertise in providing efficient and focused sales and marketing strategies to achieve the company’s strategy, growth and profit objectives.

Sales

  • Prepare an annual sales and marketing strategy and budget.
  • Continuously monitor and report on its achieved goals on a weekly, monthly and annual basis.
  • Prepare weekly sales and marketing reports for submission to the Managing Director.
  • Based on marketing reports and sales performance revise strategies accordingly on weekly basis and submit to the Managing Director.
  • Oversee all customers’ inquiries and requests are appropriately responded to in a timely manner.
  • Oversee all advertising, publicity, and brand management of company’s products.
  • Lead on customer satisfaction surveys and report to management to inform on implications/future sales strategies.
  • Liaise with line departments with regards to performance on manufacturing, transportation of goods to customers, and invoicing.
  • Appraise the performance of the Marketing and Sales team members.

Marketing

  • Establishes marketing goals based on past performance and market forecasts.
  • Research and analyse market trends, demographics, pricing schedules,
  • and other relevant information to form marketing strategies.
  • Work with marketing staff to develop detailed marketing plans for all media channels and sales teams.
  • Approves and oversees the creative development of promotional materials, website content, advertisements, and other marketing-related projects.
  • Communicate with various media buyers, advertising agencies, printers, and other services to help marketing projects come to fruition.
  • Provide in-depth information to interested customers and acts as a representative for the marketing department.
  • Develop cost-effective marketing plans for each product or service.
  • Track all marketing and sales data and create detailed reports and to bring to senior management.
  • Adjusts marketing campaigns and strategies

Sales and Marketing Manager Requirements

Customer Service Administrator

Job Title: Customer Service Administrator
Job Location: Wellington, Freetown

Westwind Energy is a social enterprise based in Sierra Leone. We have been manufacturing and distributing improved energy efficient cookstoves under the Wonder Stoves brand name since 1990.

We are looking to hire someone who is passionate about customer service to join our existing team. You will have confident telephone manner, strong communication skills, a proven ability to work under pressure, excellent knowledge of MS Word & Excel and great attention to detail.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Handling customer enquiries, issuing advice and helping to process their product orders via Phone, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram.
  • Working as part of a team to ensure processes and procedures are followed accurately and are aligned to our operating procedures.
  • Processing of enquiries, phone calls and capturing orders from customers.
  • Taking incoming calls from the public in a friendly and informative manner.
  • Making outbound calls to businesses and costumers regarding their orders.
  • Understand processes (i.e., repairs and returns) and be able to articulate this on the phone to customers.
  • Provide accurate information on products available and product specification.
  • Set up new customer accounts and enter information accurately onto the company database.
  • Overseeing the accounts from raising invoices through to chasing payments and orders.
  • Managing the customer accounts system.
  • Assisting the sales team with processing and progressing customer orders.
  • Supporting drivers with paperwork and supplies.
  • Processing the returns and repairs in the factory.
  • Assist colleagues in other departments where and when required.
  • Send daily reports via WhatsApp chat group on activities.

Technical and Production Manager

Job Title: Technical and Production Manager
Job Location: Wellington, Freetown

Westwind Energy is a social enterprise based in Sierra Leone. We have been manufacturing and distributing improved energy efficient cookstoves under the Wonder Stoves brand name since 1990.

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to organise and oversee the manufacturing of goods. You will be ultimately responsible for the smooth running of all production lines and the quality of output. We expect you to have deep know-how in production procedures. Ability to direct personnel towards maximum performance. Decision-making and problem-solving will take up a great part of your day. The goal is to ensure an efficient and productive manufacturing process that meets company requirements.

Production Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to streamline factory operations.
  • Screen, recruit, and train production workers.
  • Ensure that factory machinery is always maintained and in good working order.
  • Analysing production data to identify and resolve any production issues.
  • Prepare daily/weekly/Monthly production reports.
  • Inspect finished products to establish quality and standards are met.
  • Monitor, measure and report on production related process performance and general issues.
  • Ensure good and clear communication is given to supervisors and team leads.
  • Ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to and all matters relating to this are dealt with accordingly.
  • Ensure that stock levels are maintained always.
  • Liaise with team supervisors daily to give performance reports and general observations in terms of production.
  • Setting up/fabrication of machines and equipment.
  • Interpret welding process specifications.
  • Liaise with other managers/supervisors to formulate objectives and understand requirements.
  • Estimate costs and prepare budgets.
  • Organise workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
  • Monitor production to resolve issues.
  • Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel (quality inspectors, workers etc.)
  • Determine quantity of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials etc.)
  • Ensure output meets quality standards.
  • Enforce health and safety precautions.

Requirements:

  • Comprehend Technical Drawings and Other Visual Instructions.
  • MUST have knowledge of operating a CNC plasma cutter.
  • Give Visual, Written, and Oral Instructions.
  • Safety Regulations and Procedures.
  • Welding Experience.
  • Deep knowledge of production management.
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts.
  • Experience in reporting on key production metrics.
