Westwind Energy SL Limited is a Sierra Leone based woman led and co-founded company specialising in the manufacturing and distribution of life preserving, energy efficient cookstoves proudly branded as Wonder Stoves™. Our stoves are designed to cater to the diverse cooking needs of domestic, commercial, and institutional customers in urban, peri-urban, and rural areas.
Our facility has the capacity to manufacture up to 8000 domestic and 100 institutional cookstoves monthly and has workforce which includes 30 full-time and part-time employees, 70% of which are women.
Our Story
Our story began over three decades ago, driven by a simple gift and a profound vision. In 1989, Mr. Ibrahim N’Jai returned from Kenya with a ceramic cookstove as a gift for his wife. This humble gesture would set the stage for transformative change. Recognising the life-changing benefits of the stove, Mr. N’Jai and his wife, Haja Posseh N’Jai, founded Wonder Stoves in 1990. Their goal was clear: to provide cleaner, faster, and easier cooking options to families across Sierra Leone and beyond. Today, this eco-friendly and life-saving product is used in numerous homes and institutions across the Mano River Union.

Where We Work
Based in Sierra Leone we are present in major cities, including Freetown, Kambia, Pujehun, Port Loko, Moyamba, Makeni, and Bo. Our expansion has reached Liberia and Guinea within the Mano River Union, and we have ambitious plans to broaden our presence to additional ECOWAS states over the next three years.
