Job Overview: As a graduate engineer at Westwind Energy, you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic field of renewable energy and sustainable product development. This role focuses on supporting the production of Wonder Stoves, our environmentally friendly cooking solutions. Working alongside an experienced engineer, you will contribute to various aspects of the production process, from design optimisation to quality control.
Graphic Designer Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
Product Design and Improvement:
- Collaborate with the production manager to contribute ideas and solutions for enhancing the design and functionality of products.
- Assist in the development of 3D models, prototypes, and simulations to test and refine design concepts.
Manufacturing Support:
- Work closely with the production manager to understand manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement in efficiency and quality.
- Participate in production meetings and provide input on optimising assembly procedures.
Quality Control:
- Conduct inspections and quality checks on products during various stages of the production process.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement improvements based on feedback and inspection results.
Data Analysis:
- Collect and analyse data related to product performance, failure rates, and customer feedback.
- Assist in generating reports to inform decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
Documentation:
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of detailed documentation related to product specifications, manufacturing processes, and quality standards.
- Support the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various engineering tasks.
Collaboration and Training:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance technical skills and gain a deeper understanding of the Wonder Stove production process.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in renewable energy, sustainable design, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Experience:
- Previous internship or project experience related to product design, manufacturing, or quality control is advantageous.
